CATL's supplier conference was held on December 28th in Ningde, Fujian, China.

CATL stated that in 2026, sodium-ion batteries will be widely applied in battery swapping, passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and energy storage, potentially forming a new trend of "sodium and lithium shining together."

It's worth noting that on April 21st this year, CATL released the world's first mass-produced sodium-ion battery – CATL Sodium-ion – at its first Super Technology Day, officially launching the widespread application of sodium-ion battery products from zero to N.

As CATL's brand-new sodium-ion battery brand, CATL Sodium-ion includes two types of products: "Sodium-ion Power Battery" and "Sodium-ion-24V Heavy-duty Truck Integrated Starting and Auxiliary Battery," both capable of operating across a full temperature range from -40℃ to +70℃.

CATL previously stated that the Sodium-ion passenger vehicle battery will completely solve the problem of vehicle performance degradation in extremely cold environments. Taking a common model with a 2.95-meter wheelbase as an example, the CATL Sodium-ion battery can achieve a pure electric range of over 200km in hybrid vehicles and over 500km in pure electric vehicles, meeting daily commuting and travel needs in extremely low temperatures.

In the investor relations activity record table on October 20th, CATL revealed that sodium-ion batteries have advantages in low-temperature performance, carbon footprint, and safety performance, and can be widely used in passenger and commercial vehicle power applications. The company's released Sodium-ion battery has passed the new national standard certification, becoming the world's first sodium-ion battery to pass the new national standard certification. The Sodium-ion passenger vehicle power battery is currently under development and implementation with customers, and progress is smooth.
